Repair and Renew Your Mind!

Do you want to uncover the secrets to learning a new language that brings peace and abundance?

We can go three weeks without food and three days without water, but we cannot go three seconds without thinking. Our thoughts are continually active. When you hear this, what comes up for you? Are you in control of your thoughts, or do you find yourself dwelling on the past, worrying about the future, or replaying negative experiences?

Perhaps you hold beliefs like, "I'm always in this position," "Things never go my way," or "It's never-ending!" These thinking patterns become automatic until we realize how much they control our emotions, behaviour, and what we attract into our lives.

Our mindset develops unconsciously, starting in childhood and continuing into adulthood, unless we become aware and make a change. This is where our beliefs originate—what we hear, take on as our own, and carry into how we speak to ourselves.

It won't if you keep telling yourself that things never work out or that good will never come your way. If you say, "I am unhealthy" or "I am poor," then you will believe that is only what is possible. Where your focus and attention go, your energy flows. The good news is that you can start forming new patterns once you become aware of your thoughts.

Begin by noticing what you are noticing without judgment. Acknowledge your usual thoughts and start replacing the negative with positive ones. Use a 10-second pause: take a breath in for three seconds while saying "think, feel," then exhale for seven seconds, saying "choose."

For example, if you think, "I can never lose weight; I always gain it back," replace it with "I see myself as healthy. I will choose to eat healthily and go for a walk."

Quieting the mind's amygdala allows you to think from your prefrontal cortex. Dr. Caroline Leaf's book Clean Up Your Mental Mess dives deep into brain functions and how they can be repaired from old thinking patterns.

I didn't realize how much I was saying negative things to myself until I became aware. Once you start this practice, it's incredibly freeing. It doesn't mean you'll do it perfectly or always react ideally, but recognizing these moments without judgment allows new patterns to form. Old beliefs and hurtful words will fade, making way for positive habits.

Start today by asking yourself:

 🔑 What do you say to yourself? Do you speak to yourself like a friend, or are you hard on yourself?
🔑 Where is your focus? Are you concentrating on what you want in your life?
🔑 Remember, your energy goes where your attention flows and it will grow!
🔑 Use a 3:1 ratio: for every negative thought, replace it with three positive phrases or words.

End each day with gratitude for your awareness, feelings, thinking, and behaviours and for being kind to yourself. Believe that you are here for a purpose and to enjoy life to the fullest.
